Mistakes Happen—What Matters Is What You Do Next

I recently learned this the hard way. I had written content on several topics, hours of work but I didn’t save it. I kept putting it off until one day I accidentally closed the tab. Just like that, everything was gone.
I tried recovering it. Checked files, documents, even the recycle bin, nothing. Could I remember what I wrote? Only bits and pieces, and not the way I wanted.
Did I feel bad? Of course. Regret is natural. But should I dwell on it? No.
Mistakes happen, every single day. No one is above them. As frustrating or painful as they feel in the moment, staying stuck there doesn’t help. Feel it, yes. But don’t live in it.
The real value is in the lesson. For me, it’s simple: always save my work, better yet, use autosave.
And truthfully, losing written work is small compared to other mistakes we make in life. But the principle is the same: don’t dwell for too long. Learn, adjust, and move forward.
Sometimes, starting again is part of the process.
